A discussion of these and other issues of cooperation took place the day before between the Russian department and representatives of the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) of the Ministry of Agriculture of Malaysia, the Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM) and the Federal Agricultural Marketing Promotion Agency (FAMA).

“During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the completion of the procedure for approving a veterinary certificate for beef and beef by-products exported from Russia to Malaysia,” the statement said. A visit of inspectors from DVS and JAKIM to Russian beef and dairy production enterprises is planned for July-August.

“In addition, Rosselzkhoznadzor and Malaysian colleagues expressed their readiness to speed up the resolution of the issue of exporting Russian poultry meat,” the agency adds.

The service also organized a visit for the foreign delegation to the branch of the Federal State-Financed Institution “Federal Centre For Animal Health” (FGBI “ARRIAH”) in Tatarstan: the institution’s capabilities were demonstrated to eliminate violations of established requirements through the analysis of the component composition of halal products, including using DNA determination of prohibited components . Foreign colleagues highly appreciated the level of equipment of the laboratory and the competence of its employees, expressing confidence “that only the highest quality halal products will be supplied to Malaysia.”

Assistant to the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Artem Daushev told Malaysian representatives about the basic principles of regionalization and compartmentalization in Russia, focusing on the effectively functioning Federal State Information System in the Field of Veterinary Medicine (FGIS “VetIS”) — a system that ensures traceability of controlled goods at all stages of production.

As a result, the parties confirmed their interest in developing scientific and technical cooperation in the field of combating animal diseases and agreed in the near future to organize a visit of representatives of the competent Malaysian service to Russia to exchange experience.
