A unique fumigation installation was developed for processing imported fruits and vegetables

A mobile fumigation unit based on the KamAZ chassis, which has no analogues in the world, was developed by the Republican Fumigation Group Federal State Enterprise Republican Fumigation Group (RFG) of Rosselkhoznadzor. Now this device is used to disinfect plant products imported into the Russian Federation.

“Imported products of plant origin in which quarantine pests have been identified are subject to disinfection. The fumigation unit, developed on the basis of the KamAZ chassis at the RFG, is used on the territory of the Aurora container terminal in St. Petersburg. At the same time, the main type of processed products recently are bananas from Ecuador,” specialists from the Republican Fumigation Group told Agroexpert.

The mobile fumigation unit was developed on behalf of the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergei Dankvert, and mainly domestic components were used in its creation.

Such a device can be used to disinfect products in hard-to-reach areas and ports. Experts note that the domestic installation makes it possible to quickly and mobile carry out the entire range of quarantine phytosanitary disinfection work with drugs of any hazard class, including the processing of organic products.
