The Russian Federation’s intervention fund is again filled with grain after a pause last week
Grain purchases to the Russian Federation’s intervention fund on Tuesday increased by 3.3 times compared to Monday’s volume, to 2,700 tons. After a two-day pause last week, productive trading continues, as follows from the exchange materials.
As before, the main demand is for soft wheat of the third class of the 2023 harvest — 2,700 tons were purchased for the amount of 42.174 million rubles (on Monday the purchase volume was 810 tons). Last week, on Thursday and Friday, there were no purchases.
On Tuesday, out of eight auctions, one took place, with a purchase in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The next auction will take place on May 29, 30 and 31.
The mechanism of grain procurement and commodity interventions is used to stabilize prices for grain crops. The reserve of the intervention fund at the end of 2022 was 3 million tons of grain. New purchasing interventions began on December 11, 2023: from this date, 1.066 million tons of grain were sent to the fund (with a purchase plan of 2 million tons) worth 15.233 billion rubles.
