Rosselkhoznadzor will insist on access for winter wheat and barley from the Russian Federation to China

Rosselkhoznadzor continues negotiations on the admission of winter wheat and barley from the Russian Federation to the Chinese market, the next negotiations will take place next week, said Deputy Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Anton Karmazin at the All-Russian Grain Forum in Sochi.

“The task for China — we have not given up on ourselves — is the admission of winter wheat and barley. Negotiations are underway. Next week, the negotiating group will fly to China and will meet with the State Customs Committee of China on this issue,” said Anton Karmazin.

He noted that there are difficulties with phytosanitary monitoring for individual pests that are present in Russia.

The deputy head of the service noted that Rosselkhoznadzor has already achieved the opening of the Chinese market for spring grain from Russia. “Though, we supply very little. 2.5 thousand producers have been certified to export spring grain from the Russian Federation to China. However, supplies come only from four regions: Altai, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai and Primorsky Krai,” noted Anton Karmazin.
