“We have just visited the facilities of the Zarya farm and witnessed the ongoing harvesting activities. I must say, the results this year are impressive, both in the Tula region and across Russia. The pace is high. You can see for yourself: over 50 million tons of grains and legumes have been harvested (compared to only 25 million tons last year), including more than 43 million tons of wheat and over 4.5 million tons of barley,” noted Dmitry Patrushev.

He also shared early figures on the potato harvest, indicating that nearly 290,000 tons have been gathered. The total for all vegetables stands at 315,000 tons.

“I have to say, the harvest has been challenging, with drought in some regions and heavy rains in others. Nonetheless, I repeat, the pace is good and results are exceeding last year’s. It’s crucial to keep up the effective work,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to the Agricultural Ministry’s forecast, 132 million tons of grain are expected to be harvested in 2024, including 86 million tons of wheat. Minister of Agriculture Oksana Luth stated in mid-July that while this year’s harvest forecast remains unchanged for now, adjustments may be necessary as harvesting progresses, taking into account weather conditions and other challenges.
