Experts Assess Grape Yield Following Excessive Heat in Southern Russia
Winter and spring rains replenished soil moisture reserves, helping to prevent a significant drop in yields in major wine-growing regions, the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo) said in a statement, citing insights from the ‘Russian Wine Guide’ experts.
Following the audit of the Don Valley wine-growing region, experts from the ‘Russian Wine Guide’ reported that the first grapes for producing sparkling wines were processed approximately two weeks ago. The harvest for still wines is also expected to commence earlier than usual.
