To control the introduction into Russia and the spread of the detected quarantine pests, the necessary measures were taken in relation to all contaminated products as provided for by the current legislation in the field of plant protection.

During the implementation of quarantine phytosanitary control, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists detected products infected with plant pests, including tobacco, bananas, rice, tangerines, peanuts, coffee, potatoes, pears, etc. Contaminated products were imported into Russia from India, Morocco, Brazil, Egypt and South Africa.

In particular, RFG specialists in St. Petersburg carried out quarantine phytosanitary disinfection of the detected products in stationary fumigation units using methyl bromide, as well as in a mobile fumigation unit (MFU), developed on the basis of a KamAZ chassis. Thanks to the mobile MFU, which has no analogues in Russia, the enterprise can quickly carry out the entire range of work on quarantine phytosanitary disinfection of regulated products with pesticides of any hazard class, anywhere in our country, including hard-to-reach areas and ports.

The mobile unit was developed and launched in 2020 on the initiative of the Rosselkhoznadzor management with the direct participation RFG, the Rosselkhoznadzor departments for the city of Moscow, Moscow Oblast and Tula Oblast, as well as a separate RFG branch in Novorossiysk.

For more than 60 years, RFG has been ensuring the quarantine and phytosanitary safety of the country, carrying out work to disinfect regulated products imported into the territory of the Russian Federation and exported from Russia from quarantine and other pests.
