“In the period from January to June 2024, the Argus-Fito information system processed phytosanitary certificates for the export of 27.6 million tons of wheat. In June 2024 alone, certificates for 4.7 million tons were issued. This represents a one-third increase over the same month last year, when certificates for the export of 3.5 million tons were issued,” the Service stated.

Data from the past five years has confirmed record wheat exports for both the six-month period and June of this year. In June 2019, certificates for the export of 812,000 tons were issued; in June 2020, the figure was 351,000 tons; in 2021, it increased to 2.4 million tons; and in 2022, certificates for 1.2 million tons were issued.

In the period from January to June 2024, wheat export volumes reached 24.7 million tons, an increase of nearly 12% over the same period last year. When compared to the figures from 2019-2022, the exports have more than doubled, as per data from Rosselkhoznadzor’s information system (2019 — 10.3 million tons, 2020 — 12.5 million tons, 2021 — 12.45 million tons, and in 2022 — 11.02 million tons).
