Spring Sowing Nears Completion Across Russia – Oksana Luth

Spring sowing is heading to a conclusion, with over 54 million hectares already planted, accounting for 97.2% of the projected area. At the same time, harvesting has commenced in 16 regions, Oksana Luth, the Russian Minister of Agriculture, said during a session of the operational headquarters of the Ministry.

“Despite challenging weather conditions this season, agricultural work is advancing rapidly. Approximately 1.5 million hectares have been harvested, yielding 6.2 million tons of grain. Productivity has matched the levels achieved in the previous year,” stated the head of the ministry.

She also emphasized that farmers have been supplied with all the necessary resources. Subsidies are being actively provided to the beneficiaries.

The Ministry of Agriculture is giving special attention to the prompt compensation of farmers whose crops were devastated by the unexpected return of frost. Insurance companies have disbursed over 1 billion rubles in claims under insurance contracts.
